Its the Business!

There are some very good reports from the various companies operating in this year's Enterprise Challenge, many are trading today as they maximise sales from the Valentine's Day market. It seems to me that time fly's even quicker during the days of this competition. Four weeks have flown since the Fratton Park launch and already its half term. Please where possible encourage your teams to continue working through next week's holiday, the top companies will still be meeting, talking and pushing on with their vision and product development.

When the schools return the Trading Day will come into sharp focus, encourage your young Directors to set up their stall / pitch as often as possible, get them to think outside of the school market. For example; Car Boots Sale, Church Meetings, Craft Fairs, Relatives workplace, village halls, table top sales etc. etc. Each time they set up and do business encourage them to improve on every aspect of their merchandising and display in preparation for the important Trading Day.

Good Business is always aware of the competition, please encourage your teams to LOOK HERE at their rivals. In particular they should look out for Companies operating in the same industry and market. Each Business should aim to be the very best in their sector. Do encourage them not be frightened of competition, rather to use it to help be the best they can be. As Sky says; Believe in Better. If your teams are not yet showing here please get them to e-mail me their web site / Facebook page address.

During March we need also to begin to focus on their Business Plans / Submissions that will be handed in for the judges, please do let me know if you would like some previous entries to help inspire and envision your teams.

Please do keep me up to speed with any uplifting stories. For example I have a young man in one of my teams who has a reputation for being well naughty, yet he has thrown his heart and soul into this competition, real leadership qualities are beginning to emerge and I have a unique privilege to be able to steer him towards leading his mates in a good direction rather than astray. As a his Business mentor I have a real opportunity to make a positive impact on his character and his future.

Finally I have updated the pictures, mini bio's etc. of Business Mentors & Teachers on The Challenge Web Site, I have lifted some pictures of you from Linked In and Facebook. Please do take a look on the Challenge Web Site and please do send in your photographs so I can upload them to the site. As always if you need any help or support or have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you again for your service to these amazing young people.

Many Thanks, God Bless, Steve
